The current version of Boxenator is 1.0.0. Boxenator requires recent versions of Portage and Python.

To install, run the following command as root in the unpacked boxenator-1.0.0 directory:

python setup.py install

To support per-package environment variables and user patches, the Boxenator bashrc must be installed as /etc/portage/bashrc. If a Portage bashrc is already in use, it must be manually merged with Boxenator's to provide this support. Otherwise, simply create a symbolic link as root:

ln -s boxenator.bashrc /etc/portage/bashrc
