- December 22: gElemental 0.9.3 released
- This minor feature release introduces the (experimental, but complete) pygElemental Python binding; configure with --enable-python to get it. Ambrogio Oliva has expanded the Italian translation and suggested improvements to naming of chemical series.
- December 16: Boxenator 1.0.0 released
- This major release switches to Python distutils, separates the implementation module from the interface, etc.

- This is the first release version of Boxenator, a scriptable generator of configuration files for Gentoo's Portage system.

- This is the first release version of gElemental, and is an unstable release for testing and translation. gElemental is a periodic table viewer that provides detailed information on the chemical elements.
